Eggs are an important part of the daily diet of Chinese residents and play an irreplaceable role in human development, health maintenance and immune function. Access to historical wholesale egg price data within a given regional scale is important for analyzing regional market trends, formulating agricultural policies, and predicting future price changes. This dataset was constructed using basic wholesale egg price data obtained from the National Key Agricultural Products Market Information Platform and manual field surveys of Beijing wholesale markets. Based on assessments of data the accuracy, completeness and consistency, the acquired raw data were cleaned, processed, recalculated and validated. The processing methods include time-series continuity checks, missing value filling, STL (Seasonal and Trend decomposition using Loess) decomposition, and calculation of month-on-month and year-on-year change rates, resulting in a completed dataset of wholesale egg prices in Beijing. The dataset covers the period from 2012 to 2022, with temporal granularity at the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual levels. The data elements include seven fields: time, average price, trend, seasonality, residual, month-on-month change rate, and year-on-year change rate. This dataset can be used for in-depth egg price analysis, trend analysis and market studies in Beijing, providing basic data for scientific research in agricultural economy.
