Stacey Lynne Haugland, born in 1965, moved to Cut Bank, Montana, as a child then moved to Great Falls, Montana. After graduating high school, they attended Carleton College in Minnesota. Stacey discusses the difference in acceptance of queer people then versus now and how the language has changed over time. Stacey describes moving to Chicago then to Bozeman, Montana, with their current partner. Stacey has been very active in women’s health care, even becoming a certified midwife, was director of the Chicago abortion fund, member of the board of Women’s Lobby, started the Gallatin Area Lesbian Society, and helped establish the Gallatin Valley Human Rights Task Force. With the election of Trump as president, Stacey and their partner decided to move to Spain given the current political state.
