This article examines the normalization of the terminological thesaurus of modern jurisprudence and the methodology of linguistic expert identification of signs of an attack on the subjective rights of an individual. Modern legislation, regulating the commission of verbal offenses, is distinguished by the national marking of the relevant dispositions. Using the example of slander under Belarusian national legislation, the need to adjust certain legislative provisions is consistently proved. In particular, the concepts of “honor” and “dignity” are differentiated, which are often considered synonymous in legal practice. Furthermore, the meaning of the category “business reputation” is detailed based on the broad meaning of the attribute. Clarification of these concepts allowed us to parameterize a conflict-generating text containing potentially slanderous information: the linguistic features of the designated verbal offense include a) factuality, b) object composition, c) type of information; extralinguistic, d) information dissemination channel. Thus an algorithm for conducting a specialized forensic linguistic examination is determined.
