Abstract

The infrared and Raman spectra of Nd2CuGe2O 8 were recorded and assigned on the basis of its structural characteristics. The study was complemented with an analysis of the infrared spectra of other germanates of the same type containing different lanthanide cations (Sm–Tm) and yttrium, and by comparison with related materials.
