This paper presents the technological solution and user-centric approach (UCA) journey underlying the QX Travel Project platform - a decentralised, privacy-focused system to be applied in the context of digital dining engagement. Focusing on secure digital identity management, blockchain-based token rewards, and interactive restaurant dashboards, the project exemplifies how user-centric methodologies can drive innovation in decentralised environments. We meticulously outline the technological implementation, describe each step of our UCA process, and reflect on the challenges and lessons learned. The lessons extracted from this paper are meant to serve as a guide of good practice to navigate user engagement for similar decentralized blockchain projects that are currently under development and are looking to involve users in their UCA processes.
