Cultural adaptation and resilience are critical factors in migrant communities of Southern Africa, particularly those originating from Senegal. These communities face unique challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and economic instability. The research employs qualitative methods including semi-structured interviews with participants from various ethnic backgrounds and focus group discussions. Data collection spans urban areas of Dakar and rural regions near the border with Gambia. Findings indicate that while some migrants maintain strong ties to their home culture, others have successfully integrated into Senegalese society through language acquisition and social networks. The study reveals diverse strategies for cultural adaptation among migrant communities in Senegal. These insights are valuable for policymakers aiming to support integration efforts effectively. Recommendations include the development of culturally sensitive education programmes that foster intercultural understanding and the establishment of community support groups focusing on common challenges faced by migrants.
