Renewable energy microgrids are increasingly being adopted in rural areas of Kenya to address energy poverty and environmental challenges. A qualitative analysis of existing literature and case studies from Kenya's rural regions. While there are legal frameworks in place to support the development of renewable energy microgrids, their implementation faces challenges related to cost, infrastructure, and community engagement. Enhanced public-private partnerships could accelerate adoption by addressing financial barriers. Strengthening community involvement is crucial for sustainable project management.
