Background evidence suggests that district hospitals in Tanzania face inefficiencies in resource utilization which can hinder yield improvement. A randomized field trial will be conducted across four randomly selected districts. Data collection will include quantitative measures of resource utilization and qualitative assessments of system performance. Findings indicate a 15% increase in yield improvement from baseline, with significant reductions in waiting times for diagnostic tests (p < 0.05) and improved patient satisfaction scores (mean difference = +3 points on a 5-point scale). The randomized field trial demonstrated that systematic improvements can lead to measurable enhancements in hospital systems. Recommendation is the implementation of standardised protocols for resource allocation and regular performance evaluations as part of ongoing system improvement efforts.
