Use of bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS) in coronary artery disease had been limited, owing to the conflicting data regarding the safety and efficacy of BVS in some early reports and clinical trials. Its utility in the treatment of left main coronary artery (LM) disease was investigational due to a lack of clinical outcome data. Herein, we present a case of BVS implantation in LM with 8 years of follow-up angiography and intracoronary imaging, which demonstrated the capability of BVS to allow for continuous positive vessel remodelling and thus late luminal enlargement in the longer term after implantation. • Bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS) could be used in left mainstem disease. • There is evidence of late luminal enlargement after BVS implantation in long-term. • Favorable clinical and imaging results are observed in long-term follow-up.
