ABSTRACT This paper examines the impact of green certifications on attributed improvements in corporate water efficiency in Bangladesh, considering the moderating roles of regulatory pressure and consumer awareness. Data from 311 respondents were analyzed to test the hypotheses. Results indicate that certification type, environmental audit frequency, compliance costs, and public visibility positively influence water‐efficiency improvements, and these effects are strengthened by regulatory pressure and consumer awareness. The study contributes a novel framework linking certification factors and external pressures to corporate water‐efficiency outcomes. This framework enriches the contemporary regulation analysis and might be adapted to other domains of sustainable development, for example, energy efficiency or carbon reduction.
