ABSTRACT Impatiens microcentra Hand.‐Mazz. (Balsaminaceae) is reported here for the first time as the previous record of this species from India was based on misidentification. The species was collected from the temperate forest of Mount Saramati (3039 m), located in the Indo‐Myanmar border region of Nagaland. This ecologically significant Eastern Himalayan–Indo–Burma Biodiversity Hotspot is largely unexplored and harbors rich endemic flora. This record expands the known distribution of the species and includes detailed descriptions along with color photo plates to aid accurate field identification.
