This article examines the legal status of refugees and asylum seekers in East Africa within Morocco's jurisdiction. A comprehensive review of existing laws, regulations, and policies related to refugee and asylum seeker statuses in East Africa, with a focus on Moroccan law. An analysis revealed that while Morocco has established legal protections for refugees and asylum seekers, there is an unmet need for more stringent enforcement mechanisms. The current system requires strengthening by implementing clearer guidelines and enhancing judicial oversight to ensure compliance with international standards. Morocco should introduce legislative reforms aimed at improving the efficiency of its refugee registration process and increasing funding for legal support services.
