This paper introduces the concept of Desire as Orientation Error within the framework of Expanded Relativity Theory (ERT). It proposes that desire is not an impulse or appetite but a structural signal indicating the absence of an orientational reference. ERT reframes creation as an orientational process in which the Detection of Reference Absence (DRA) precedes the establishment of a reference frame. The First Observer is defined as the minimal structural condition required for relational distinction and coordinate instantiation. The paper explores how reference frames enable orientation, coherence, and the emergence of meaning within complex systems. Stars are presented as physical analogues of orientational anchors within cosmological systems, demonstrating how reference precedes complexity across both existential and physical domains. This work forms part of the Expanded Relativity Theory research series examining orientation, reference frames, and systemic coherence across cosmology, intelligent systems, and governance architectures.
