There are a number of benefits to putting students in charge of sharing their approved accommodations with their professors, and in urging them to follow up by speaking to faculty about their adjustments. These conversations provide an opportunity for students to learn how accommodations will be implemented and should also prompt professors to contact your disability services office if they have an issue with something DS has approved. And students get an opportunity to practice self‐advocacy, a skill they’ll need throughout their lives.
