School-based food security programmes have been implemented in Sierra Leonean communities to address malnutrition among children. However, their effectiveness remains under scrutiny. The research employs a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data from surveys with qualitative insights from focus group discussions. A significant improvement was observed in stunting prevalence rates, which decreased by 15% after the implementation of school-based food security programmes. School-based food security programmes have shown promise in enhancing child nutrition and growth outcomes in Sierra Leonean communities. Policy makers should consider scaling up these initiatives to achieve broader impacts on nutritional health.
