Fear is part of development and a basic human emotion. It is an innate emotional response triggered by perceiving present or imminent danger, prompting avoidance of threats and offering clear survival benefits. However, for many people, fear becomes a major issue and can hinder normal functioning. Fear creates resistance and prevents individuals from engaging in activities. Music therapy is an important intervention that can help reduce fear and assist in doing activities that are prohibited because of fear. In the present research, music intervention in the form of Mantra Chanting was used on a sample of 23 students from Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind. It is found that after one month of intervention, fear has been reduced significantly. The present study clearly signifies that music has therapeutic properties, and the selection of the right kind of music can have a specific impact.
