This paper discusses the emerging role of social media platforms in English language learning among the Gen-Next learners. In the present digital era, students are increasingly exposed to social networking platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and blogs, which influence their communication patterns and language acquisition. The paper explores how these platforms can be effectively used as pedagogical tools for enhancing English language skills, particularly listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It also analyses the changing learning environment in which students engage with digital content and informal communication networks. The study highlights the opportunities provided by social media for collaborative learning, instant feedback, global exposure, and learner-centred interaction. At the same time, it draws attention to the challenges of distraction, misuse, and lack of structured guidance. The paper argues that teachers should integrate social media strategically into classroom practices to create interactive, technology-enabled, and learner-friendly language learning environments. When used with proper academic guidance, social media can become a powerful resource for improving English communication skills among modern learners.
