Maternal mortality remains a significant public health concern in urban areas of South Africa, with Somali communities facing unique challenges. A mixed-methods approach including surveys, focus groups, and qualitative interviews was employed among women accessing services at community health clinics. Community-based health clinics have reduced maternal mortality by approximately 20% over the past five years in Somali urban areas through improved access to healthcare and awareness campaigns. While significant progress has been made, continued support and tailored interventions are needed to sustain these reductions. Investment in community health workers' training and infrastructure development should be prioritised to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
