Sustainability of forest conservation programmes in Western Kenya has been a subject of interest due to their impact on local communities and environmental health. A comparative analysis approach was employed using qualitative and quantitative data from archival records and interviews conducted with stakeholders in six selected communities. Proportionally, 75% of the surveyed participants reported improvements in biodiversity, while 60% noted enhanced community health outcomes. However, only 45% observed sustained financial stability. Despite initial successes, long-term sustainability challenges persist with varying levels of success across different communities. Policy makers should consider implementing adaptive management strategies and enhancing community participation for future conservation efforts.
