Introduction: Pregnancy is a transformative physiological and psychological phase requiring substantial maternal adaptation. While most pregnancies progress smoothly, approximately 15% involve complications demanding specialized care. Ayurveda, through the concepts of Vandhyatva (infertility), Vandhya Yonivyapada (Disorders of the female reproductive system), Beej Sanskar (preconception care), and Garbha Sanskar (antenatal care), offers holistic strategies to enhance maternal and fetal well-being. Materials and Methods: A systematic review was conducted using classical PubMed, Scopus, AYUSH Research Portal, and Google Scholar. Keywords included ‘Garbha Sanskar,’ ‘Beej Sanskar,’ ‘Ayurveda in pregnancy,’ and ‘Panchakarma.’ Peer-reviewed clinical trials, observational studies, and comparative analyses were included. Results: Findings demonstrate that Garbha Sanskar and Beej Sanskar support physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, influencing fetal growth, neurodevelopment, and pregnancy outcomes. Panchakarma therapies were associated with hormonal balance, systemic detoxification, and improved reproductive health. Comparisons with modern infertility treatments highlight Ayurveda’s integrative approach, combining nutrition, lifestyle, detoxification, and psychological well-being. Discussion: These Ayurvedic practices align with contemporary concepts of fetal programming, wherein genetics, maternal nutrition, environmental factors, and psychosocial health influence offspring health trajectories. Modern medicine excels in managing acute obstetric risks, whereas Ayurveda emphasizes prevention and promotion. Rigorous clinical trials are required to substantiate these benefits. Conclusion: Integrating Garbha Sanskar and Beej Sanskar with modern prenatal protocols offers a comprehensive framework to optimize maternal and fetal health, reduce complications, and foster lifelong wellness.
