The present study has been undertaken to analyze the variation of temperature in Rajshahi City, Bangladesh, for the period of 1994 to 2024. Among all the divisions, it has been seen that in Rajshahi, the temperature growth is increasing year by year. For the study, Meteorological data have been collected from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), and the highest resolution data considered were 3-hourly data, which were aggregated into daily, monthly, and annual scales to study the trends of average temperature. Also in the study, the maximum and minimum temperatures monthly and yearly have been analyzed to find the peak. The Mann-Kendall test and Sen’s slope have been used to detect statistically significant trends. The study result indicates an increasing trend in temperature, with April being recorded as the hottest month and 2024 being recorded as the warmest year. The main reasons for rising temperatures include increasing urban development, tree reduction, urban heat island effect, and global climate change with greenhouse effects, which are accelerated by expanding industry and rising vehicle emissions. Important strategies for adapting to the rising temperatures include green building construction, water conservation, encouraging climate-resilient urban planning, and increasing the amount of green space in cities.
