Abstract

Numerical analysis of flow in an oil bath was performed. Experiments for flow visualization were also conducted for a 1/10 scale water bath model. The Reynolds number of the flow in the experiment was adjusted for the numerical analysis to verify whether the obtained numerical results were consistent with real flow. Comparison and verification results showed that the data obtained from the numerical analysis were reliable. The flow around the heat treatment object in the oil bath was dependent on the flow velocity of the agitator screw. On the other hand, the change in setting height of the object was not affected by the screw flow velocities.
