The following research focuses on the emerging geopolitical risks in the modern world and the adaptation of multinational companies to those risks through the prism of foreign scientists’ studies. Management mechanisms of a multinational company in the context of global geopolitical risks are the subject of this research. The main topic of the research is the mechanisms of adaptation of a multinational company to emerging geopolitical risks. The goal of this research is to consider the theoretical approaches of foreign authors to the issues of management in a multinational company under conditions of geopolitical restrictions and their applicability to the modern Russian economy. The research uses methods of system analysis and analysis of best management practices. The scope of application of the results is the theoretical aspects of managing Russian export-oriented companies under geopolitical restrictions. Based on the reviewed studies by foreign authors, the main categories of risks for an export-oriented multinational company, as well as mechanisms for adaptation to them, are identified. An assessment was made of the applicability of the four most frequently defined types of adaptation mechanisms in the context of geopolitical risks to the modern Russian economy. The most important conclusion of the research is the relevance and possibility of applying the approaches of foreign researchers to managing Russian export-oriented multinational companies under the influence of geopolitical restrictions.
