What does it mean, within the framework of the narcissistic spectrum The reference to dreams as a psychic screen does not describe a private cinema of random images, but a dynamic psychic field upon which, each night, fragments from the positions of the narcissistic spectrum are projected. Psychotic terror, schizoid withdrawal, borderline anxiety, psychopathic omnipotence, obsessive–compulsive need for control, anxious–depressive simulation of loss, the healthy depressive capacity for mourning, and the cooperative capacity for shared meaning appear in the dream not as abstract theory, but as scene, body, rhythm, and affect. The psychic screen is not neutral. It is already permeated by traces. From primary biological and psychic narcissism, as the initial sensory inscription of existence, to the social narcissism of adult life, which is expressed as anxiety and struggle around value, experiences are organized as memory, fantasy, expectation, and somatic predisposition. This broader articulation of primary narcissism as a regulatory principle running from the biological to the psychic and social levels has been developed more extensively in Primary narcissism as a biological, psychic, and social function of wholeness: From the cell to the system (Seferiadis, 2026d). At night, when wakeful vigilance relaxes, the psychic screen is illuminated from within. Traces are organized into dream staging.
