ABSTRACT Ectopic variceal bleeding is a rare but life‐threatening complication of portal hypertension. For severe parastomal variceal hemorrhage unresponsive to conservative therapy, endovascular embolization is a safe, minimally invasive, repeatable, and effective life‐saving alternative, particularly in patients with portal hypertension and hepatic dysfunction.
