Korean Green Churches as Expressions of an Ecological-Liberational Theology of Creation: Expanding Byung-Mu Ahn’s Minjung Theology through Biblical and Theological Engagement

This article proposes an ecological mission of the Church by expanding and developing Byung-Mu Ahn’s Minjung Theology to include ecological and environmental justice by drawing from biblical, process, and Eucharistic theologies of creation. This article interprets the suffering of nature as collective han and calls for solidarity with all creation. Korean green churches are examined as models of eco-centric ministry, integrating creation care with social advocacy. They embody a theology of shared suffering and mutual flourishing in response to Korea’s ecological and climate challenges.
