Approximately 10 million individuals worldwide are affected by Parkinson’s disease. As a chronic and progressive movement disorder, it imposes a heavy economic burden on both patients and society. Focused ultrasound shows great potential for treating Parkinson’s disease owing to its noninvasive and multifunctional nature. This study aimed to explore the utilization of ultrasound in managing Parkinson’s disease by enhancing drug delivery via disruption of the blood–brain barrier, employing neuroregulatory techniques to mitigate symptoms, and ablating specific pathological brain nuclei for precise therapeutic intervention. This study aimed to delineate the underlying mechanisms of these therapeutic interventions, evaluate the current state of research, and explore opportunities for future development.
