The problem of shortage of teaching staff is relevant at all times, and today it is the most acute. The authors consider the importance of teacher training in psychological and pedagogical classes, emphasizing the additional resources inherent in it for the professional self-determination of future teachers. The materials for the study were scientific publications reflecting the views of Russian scientists and teachers-practitioners on the problem of teacher training, including the current regulatory documents regulating the activities of organizations on this issue. The subject of this article is the learning process in psychological and pedagogical classes, taking into account the specifics of supporting their activities in educational organizations of the Tyumen region. The theoretical significance of the article lies in highlighting the mandatory components of accompanying psychological and pedagogical classes: conducting diagnostics of professional orientation, participation of students in professional tests, mastering the theoretical foundations and practical pedagogical experience. The practical significance of the work is the additional general development program proposed by the authors, based on close networking with Tyumen State University and focused on immersing students in professional activities by ensuring their participation in professional trials ("study session", "extracurricular activities", "educational event"). At the same time, the authors pay attention to the mechanism of implementation of classes, which consists in a combination of different work formats, mentoring, adherence to the principles of eventfulness and integration, changing the venue of classes, and age-related interaction. It is important to note that the implementation of the program makes it possible to increase the interest of students in the field of professional psychological and pedagogical activity, thereby being the initial stage of continuous professional pedagogical education.
