Does indexing left ventricular mass to height improve the detection of obesity-associated LVH and predict outcomes in population-based studies?
Indexing left ventricular mass to height is a sensitive method for detecting obesity-associated LVH and may slightly improve outcome prediction.
Our study resulted in a proposal for thresholds for various indexed cardiac dimensions. Left ventricular mass indexed to height was sensitive in detection of LVH associated with obesity and slightly better predicted outcome.
