Dear Editor, The letter discusses recent updates regarding online quizzes in a global context. The online quizzes are an effective tool to assess Student’s competence and to identify students who may need extra attention.1,2 The fundamental essence of the students through online quizzes is calibrated from the two variables, namely intelligence (baseline knowledge and ability) and diligence (constant and earnest effort to improve competence).1 In a comparative study done to know the associations between formative practice quizzes and summative examination outcomes in a medical anatomy course, it was found that practice quizzes provide some predictive value for performances on summative examinations, and students appear to use quizzes as a study strategy to assess knowledge one to 2 days prior to examinations.3 Online quizzes also facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skills based on a learning pathway combining passive and interactive formats.4 Authors contribution The author (Thorakkal Shamim) contributed in the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND Final approval of the version to be published; AND Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
