The benefits of an active routine are well established: a regular walk reduces the risk of chronic diseases, lowers depression, slows cognitive decline, and strengthens memory. WHO recommends 150–300 min of moderate to vigorous aerobic intensity activity per week for adults and at least 60 min per day for children and adolescents. However, Luciano and colleagues showed that even a short walk is associated with positive impacts on health. But speaking about movement remains deceptively simple in a region where even walking cannot be taken for granted.
