The reaction Co(NH 3 ) 5 NO 2 2+ → Co(NH 3 ) 5 ONO 2+ proceeds under visible light for cations in certain crystallographic positions only in Co(NH 3 ) 5 NO 2 2 I 3 Cl, that suggests “crystallographic control” of reactivity within the same crystal structure.
