Postcolonial cosmopolitanism has emerged as an important concept in contemporary literary studies, particularly in discussions related to globalization, migration, and the transformation of cultural identity. In postcolonial contexts, individuals and communities increasingly experience cultural identities shaped by interactions between local traditions and global cultural influences. The legacy of colonial histories, combined with the forces of globalization and transnational mobility, has created complex cultural environments where identities are continuously negotiated and redefined. Global English literature provides a significant platform for exploring these transformations, as writers from diverse cultural backgrounds represent characters who navigate multiple cultural affiliations and develop cosmopolitan perspectives. The aim of this study is to examine how postcolonial cosmopolitanism influences the transformation of cultural identity in global English literary narratives. The research focuses on how literary texts portray characters whose identities are shaped by cross-cultural encounters, migration, and global cultural exchange. Particular attention is given to the ways in which cosmopolitan identities emerge through experiences of hybridity, diaspora, and transnational belonging. This study adopts a qualitative research methodology based on textual and interpretive analysis of selected literary works. Using a postcolonial theoretical framework, the research analyzes themes such as cultural hybridity, transnational identity, and cosmopolitan consciousness within literary narratives. The findings reveal that global English literature frequently portrays identity as a dynamic and evolving process shaped by the interaction of multiple cultural influences. Characters often develop cosmopolitan identities that reflect both local cultural heritage and global cultural experiences. By highlighting these transformations, the study contributes to global postcolonial literary scholarship and emphasizes the importance of literature in understanding the cultural complexities of an increasingly interconnected world.
