Objective: The Hyodo scoring system, applied during flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES), has been proposed as a useful tool for assessing oral intake. However, patients hospitalized with aspiration pneumonia often present with severe dysphagia, making it difficult to advance their diets even when their Hyodo scores are relatively good. This study aimed to evaluate the ability of the Hyodo score to predict swallowing function outcomes in patients with aspiration pneumonia.
