The site was visited on the 7th May 2025 by E. Wapshott MCIfA. Each space was inspected, information recorded on proforma sheets and located on the current floorplans. Photographs were taken, both of the elevations and internal details. Plans (as supplied by the Agent) have been used below; these are not to scale. This is a small but well preserved, authentic chapel in the heart of St Ives. It has immense communal value and there is a clear and well-evidenced effort to convert this into workshops and crafting artisan space for artists and makers. This is in line with the narrative which has developed in St Ives of its popularity amongst later 19th and 20th century artists, which defines the culture and business life of the town today. There will be some heritage limitations with fitments and fittings like the balcony and organ which it is likely will need to be retained and restored but the almost continual change since its construction which appears well documented in the records also allows for further flexibility and change.
