The archaeological geophysical survey was undertaken following guidance from the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists Standard and Guidance for Archaeological Geophysical Survey (CIfA 2020), the EAC Guidelines for the Use of Geophysics in Archaeology (EAC 2015) and the Historic England (2008) guidelines. The survey identified a possible alignment of positive and negative linear anomalies that may represent ditches and banks flanking a former trackway following the lower contour on the western edge of the site. A cluster of discrete positive anomalies on the higher ground towards the centre of the site may represent cut and infilled pit feature of archaeological origin, while a large area of enhanced magnetic responses following the higher contour may derive from geomorphological processes, although former quarrying activity is also a possibility.
