Abstract:Academic dissemination is undergoing a paradigm shift from “literature databases” to “innovation knowledge infrastructure.”Journal of Vocational Education (ISSN 3080-8049, eISSN 3080-8057, CODEN: ZDABBU, DOI prefix: https://doi.org/10.66106/zdabbu) has recently been officially indexed by The Lens. Headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, The Lens is a non-profit open knowledge platform operated by the social enterprise Cambia, having served the global innovation knowledge domain for over 25 years. Unlike traditional commercial databases such as Scopus and Web of Science, The Lens distinguishes itself by linking global scholarly literature (over 280 million records) with global patent data (over 160 million documents), constructing the world’s largest open scholarly-patent association graph. With the journal indexed by The Lens, its papers will not only enter scholarly citation networks but also establish direct connections with global innovation activities—R&D personnel, patent examiners, and technology transfer offices can discover the journal’s research outputs through patent citation pathways. This article, from the perspective of “scholarly-innovation knowledge connectivity,” elaborates on the platform features of The Lens and the journal’s strategic choice, exploring how vocational education research can achieve broader societal impact through innovation infrastructure.
