Abstract：Objective：To construct a competency model for digestive endoscopy specialist nurses suitable for the actual medical situation in Qinghai，and verify its application effect in training and clinical practice. Methods：Competency elements were extracted through literature analysis，semi-structured interviews and the Delphi method，and a preliminary model was formed based on the importance-frequency principle. A questionnaire survey was conducted among endoscopy nurses in some medical institutions in Qinghai Province，and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used to revise and confirm the model structure. Meanwhile，model-based training was implemented in a tertiary hospital，and the theoretical scores，operational skills and professional self-efficacy of trainees before and after training were compared. Results：The final model included 4 first-level dimensions（professional knowledge，clinical skills，risk management and emergency disposal，professional literacy）and 14 second-level indicators，with good reliability and validity（Cronbach’s α= 0.88）. The current situation assessment showed that nurses were weak in plateau-related knowledge，cooperation in complex operations and risk identification. Model-based training significantly improved theoretical and operational abilities（P < 0.01），and self-efficacy and post competence were also significantly enhanced. Conclusion：The constructed competency model for digestive endoscopy specialist nurses in Qinghai has strong applicability，which can provide a basis for regional specialist nurse training，ability assessment and post management，and plays a positive role in improving the safety and quality of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment.
