Abstract

Exploratory analysis of clinical trials can help generate valuable new hypotheses and provide important clinical insights, but they also carry risks of false-positive and over-interpretation of findings. To find out more, Nature Communications spoke to Dr. Silvia Marsoni from the FIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology (IFOM) in Milan and Dr. Nancy Butcher and Dr. Anna Heath from The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto about the reporting of exploratory analyses from clinical trials and the associated potential benefits and risks.
