This paper investigates the application of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) as a breakthrough solution for harvesting potable water from the atmosphere in hyper-arid environments. Unlike traditional desiccants, MOFs exhibit exceptional porosity and tunable chemical structures, allowing for efficient water adsorption at relative humidity (RH) levels as low as 10\%. The study focuses on the thermodynamic advantages of MOFs in the context of Turkmenistan’s Karakum Desert, where extreme daytime temperatures and low nighttime humidity prevail.
