ABSTRACT This paper deals with discontinuous second‐order differential operators with Herglotz function of the spectral parameter in the boundary condition. We establish the scattering function and provide the scattering data. We derive the modified main equation to investigate the inverse scattering problem. The uniqueness theorem is proved for the inverse problem of recovering the potential from its spectral characteristics.
