This article identifies military threats to air operations and airports against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine conflict from 2014 to 2026 and Iran's military actions following the US and Israeli attacks. These conflicts demonstrate the new threats wars pose to civil aviation and the changing approach of politicians and military commanders to combat strategies and attacks on civilian targets. Civil aviation and passenger aircraft have long been attractive targets for terrorist attacks, but recently, intentional military aggression has been used to achieve concessions or even victory in war. The article cites cases of passenger aircraft shootdowns and attacks on airports. The aim of this article is to identify military threats affecting the security of air operations and airports in light of the experiences and armed conflicts in Ukraine and the Persian Gulf region.
