Central State University, a historically Black college, hired a Hispanic male as interim provost and vice president of academic affairs. In that role, he worked closely with two Black administrators in the office of academic affairs. During their working relationship, one administrator occasionally made remarks suggesting Hispanic people were often late, referring to them as “mañana people.” After a new university president took office, the interim provost was reassigned as a professor of education.
