The present study aimed at analyzing the residents and business owners’ perceptions of the impact of the road construction project in Minna. The study utilized the purposive sampling method to pick two transport networks that are undergoing construction. The study used simple random techniques to administer 200 questionnaires to the residents and business owners along the transport network being developed. The participant observatory survey was used to provide further evidence of the current conditions that the construction activities have caused. The data collected was analyzed using frequencies, percentages, and charts. The study results showed that social disruption, increased traffic, disruptions of roadside business, and effects on environmental aesthetics are some of the impacts of road construction projects observed. The study results also showed that respondents were indifferent in their view of whether the ongoing road construction project results in noise pollution and excess dust generation. The study concluded that road construction projects have a salient negative impact on residents and business owners along the constructed route. The study recommends, among others, that the government, through the relevant agency (i.e., Niger state town planners), should inform the residents and business owners along the roads about the plan of the construction project. Also, those business owners who have their business centres along the roads should be served notice before embarking on the project.
