ABSTRACT Resilience has been acknowledged as an important aspect of a holistic understanding of emerging adults who face structural and cultural challenges. As such, it serves as a framework for empirical research to examine the processes through which minoritized young adults navigate and better adapt to intersectional stressors across sociopolitical, sociocultural and interpersonal domains. In this exploratory study, we examined the perceptions of 35 at‐risk young adult Arabs in Israel (ages 18–29 years). Thematic analysis yielded two main themes. The first, personal resilience processes, refers to awareness and the challenging of societal norms, a sense of responsibility and reflective adaptation. The second, relational resilience processes, refers to meaningful relationships with mothers and social workers. Practical implications include the importance of engaging with minoritized young adults through a strength‐based approach. Recommendations include the development of culturally sensitive programs that recognize how cultural norms and values can both support and constrain resilience.
