Many compounds extracted from different sources have showed anticancer potential including phytochemicals. These compounds induced apoptosis in cancer cells and proved as containing anticancer potential. Cancer is regarded as fatal disease which is difficult to cure and high mortality rate. The objective of current study was to assess cytotoxic potential of geraniol and Pulegone on breast cancer cell line, MCF-7 which were cultured in complete DMEM media. Cytotoxicity was assessed using cytotoxic assay, MTT. When MCF-7 cells were exposed to geraniol and Pulegone, they exhibited increased cytotoxicity and decreased viability. It is concluded that geraniol and pulegone have anticancer potential against breast cancer cells. Thus, geraniol and pulegone can be used as potent therapeutic option either alone or when co-administered with traditional chemotherapy in the treatment of breast cancer.
