Nutraceuticals obtained from natural sources have been explored as well as studied for significant applications to treat several diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases. The manuscript explores the mode of actions and different nutraceuticals used to treat various neurodegenerative disorders (NDs). The data have been extensively collected from various sources such as Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science, and PubMed, respectively. Progressive malfunction and loss of neuronal structure as well as function, leading to neuronal cell death, are characteristic of ND conditions. Targeting various neuroprotection strategie avoiding cell death and restoring the function of damaged neurons, may be potential treatments for ND disorders. The application of nutraceuticals as neuroprotective agents in the treatment of ND disorders is a growing field of research. This article summarises the current knowledge regarding the neuroprotective effects of nutraceuticals against the pathologies of ND conditions. There is no way to recommend nutraceuticals in dementia-related therapy guidelines because of the severe scarcity of high-level evidence studies. However, more research is needed because of their promising neuroprotective action potential.
