The construction industry plays a pivotal role in the socioeconomic development of nations and serves as a major source of employment for both skilled and unskilled labourers. Labour productivity is a critical determinant of construction project performance, as it directly influences project costs, timelines, and overall profitability. Labour costs typically account for 30% to 50% of total project expenditures, underscoring the importance of effective workforce management. Factors influencing construction labour productivity include education and training, work methods, personal health, motivation, tools and equipment, workload, work quality expectations, and supervision. Understanding these factors enables project managers to implement strategies that enhance productivity, optimize resource utilization, and ensure timely project completion. This study examines the key determinants affecting construction labour productivity in Borno State, Nigeria, with the aim of providing actionable insights for improving project delivery performance.
