Machine strip of 57 (54) trenches, the dimensions are 30m x 1.8m. The trenches were located on targeted areas of proposed development and where possible on areas that had potential features revealed by an Aerial Investigation and Mapping Assessment of the Site (Place Services 2021). Hand excavation of archaeological features were then undertaken to a safe depth and then recorded. Where necessary soil samples were taken to gather further information on the date/or use of the occupied area. 54 trenches were machine excavated and a range of archaeological features were observed across the site. Site anomalies were targeted to the north and centre of site in an attempt to locate a possible enclosure. This was observed in several trenches and excavated, however no diagnostic finds were retained. Towards the southern end of site a majority of the features that were recorded were found to be post-medieval in nature and many of the other targeted anomalies were found to not correlate to what was uncovered during the excavation. A large amount of modern truncation was revealed in the western end of the site which was observed in several trenches (17, 25, 27, 28 and 29). The main concentration of archaeology was located in the north and south of site.
