Abstract The typification of four Linnaean names of taxa belonging to the current circumscription of Asphodelaceae is discussed, in addition to the Linnaean‐related Anthericum mattiazzi . Lectotypes are designated from the Adriaan van Royen Herbarium at L ( Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus var. lilioasphodelus , the generitype of the genus), the Burser Herbarium at UPS ( H. lilioasphodelus var. flava , H. lilioasphodelus var. fulva ), and the Linnaean Herbarium at LINN ( Anthericum planifolium ). The LINN specimen serves also as the lectotype for the homotypic priority name A. mattiazzi , the only species currently classified under the genus Simethis . Each type choice maintains the present usage of the corresponding Linnaean name.
